Animate twitter.com's Fail Whale with just CSS3 and HTML

Steve Dennis did some amazing work creating an animated Fail Whale in just pure CSS with no scripting at all.

It's so beautiful — both visually and as a CSS piece — that I wished I could see it all the time. And so after a quiet Wednesday afternoon (during the soccer World Cup) experimenting with Safari Extensions, this came about! No plugins, no movies, no Flash; just a lively whale in CSS.

Everything should work, but it's all quite new at this point.

Requirements

• Safari 5 (or higher) for Mac OS X or Windows
• Safari Extensions enabled (here's how to enable them)
• You probably should also be a Twitter user

Installation

1. Download below in Safari 5
2. Double-click on it in the Downloads window
3. To see what a broken twitter will now look like, check this test page
